Juli Leith, B.A., FLMI, CLU, President

Business Coach

I have been coaching financial advisors and their teams, in some way or another, since 1985. During my many experiences over the years, I have gained valuable insights while coaching some of Canada’s finest teams.

Since joining The Personal Coach in 2004, I have developed a clientele of highly motivated and successful financial advisor teams. I am passionate about people and have the ability to inspire those around me. Some of my proudest moments have resulted when individuals and teams have achieved things they never thought they would.

One of the unique things about me is that I’m married to a financial advisor who has been in the industry since 1984. I’ve seen the ups and downs of the industry from both a business perspective and a personal, emotional perspective, right from the first stages of business.

When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends either at home, at our cottage or when we are travelling. One of my favourite things to do is to spend the day cooking and creating with a glass of wine in hand and listening to music. Then, the best part is spending the evening enjoying the food with family or friends. I also enjoy an eclectic mix of music and I'm my singer-songwriter son’s biggest fan!

My family is a Centre in the Square Sponsor and we donate to Sick Kids and McMasters' Children's Hospital. We also sponsor two children with PLAN Canada and have been involved with PLAN for the past 25 years.

We support two Syrian families and have become their "extended" family here in Canada, having helped them both integrate into the country and then financially sponsoring the second family to come to Canada.

Business Coach

I’ve spent my entire career focused on helping advisors build great careers in the financial services industry.

For the first 25 years, I built a top agency in the KW area with Manulife Financial where we were always in the top 3 in Canada and top 10 in the world.

I founded The Personal Coach in 2002 – a company focused on customized one-on-one coaching for advisors and their teams.

I’m active in the industry. I’m a past member on the board of directors for Advocis, I have CLU, ChFC, CFP designations and I was the first Canadian to speak on the main stage at LAMP.

I reside in Parry Sound and Sarasota and share my days with my 4 kids and 10 grandchildren.

With a passion for education and development, I excel at conducting seminars and workshops in addition to coaching financial advisors. After 24 years in the financial services industry, I have taken on various roles and thrive in each role mainly due to my knowledge of the industry, my resourceful nature and my ability to see opportunities. I am the go-to person for latest industry news which is due in large part to my love of learning and ability to seek out information.

Business & Regulatory Coach

I am very pleased to have joined The Personal Coach in 2018 after 25 years as a senior executive in the financial services industry. I am a corporate lawyer but have spent the majority of my career in various roles, including strategy development, mergers and acquisitions, and advisor training and regulatory education.

For 4 years, I was President of Sun Life’s mutual fund dealership, leading one of Canada’s largest mutual fund dealers. I believe that financial advisors deliver a vital service to Canadian investors and that their role is becoming increasingly more difficult. For the better part of the past 10 years, I’ve been travelling across Canada working with advisors and empowering them to develop strategies to meet the many challenges that confront them.

Most of my time is spent helping advisors with succession planning, acquiring books of business and better understanding and adapting to the changing regulatory landscape.

In my free time, I enjoy golfing, working out, reading on a wide variety of subjects, and indulging my 2 kids. I look forward to meeting with and helping as many clients of The Personal Coach as I can.

Business & Lead DiSC® Coach

I began my career with Manulife Financial in Waterloo, Ontario as a Brokerage Assistant in 1989. In the 14 years that followed, I held a wide variety of positions including Brokerage Manager, Marketing Manager and New Agent Development. I relocated to Montreal in the year 2000 where I assumed the position of Regional Practice Management Consultant coaching many top advisors and their teams. I also played an important role on the regional management team by helping shape the organization's value proposition to their client, the advisor.

In 2005, I joined The Personal Coach. My advisor clients value my openness, honesty, coaching methods and enjoy the results that they get from my coaching process. It is especially rewarding for me to get advisory teams openly and effectively communicating. Helping advisors achieve success with less stress, more focus, and more confidence is always my main goal.

Patricia Giesbrecht

Business Coach

In my early years, friends, family, neighbours, and teachers told me I should have a career in business because of my drive to get things done. I took their cue and never looked back. Over the past 25+ years, it has been gratifying and inspiring to hear my colleagues and clients repeating the refrain, “If you want to be sure it gets done and done right, ask Pat.”

After nearly three decades in the financial services industry, primarily working face-to-face with advisors and their teams, I decided that the best way to apply my skills in helping financial advisors is as a personal coach. That’s why I joined the impressive team at The Personal Coach. I am thrilled about the opportunity to help advisors “find their way” to fully develop their businesses and enjoy the fruits of their labours.

My ‘get it done’ motto is not confined to the working world. I strongly believe that success in business is more likely to be achieved and, more importantly - savoured, if it’s integrated with a fulfilling personal life. That being said, you’re not likely to contact me on weekends and certain weeknights. I have a busy fulfilling life including volleyball, skiing, kayaking, swimming, golfing, biking, weightlifting and playing bridge. I also enjoy spending time with my husband, children and grandchildren hiking and going on trips. I would love to hear more about your life and business and discuss how we can work together to realize your full potential.

After 27 years in the financial services industry, I joined The Personal Coach in 2022. Coaching financial advisors is a natural fit for me as I've supported and helped advisors my entire career. I have an in-depth knowledge and understanding of how to set up, grow and manage a successful advisory practice.

Previously, I've held positions including Financial Centre Manager, Sales Manager and Financial Advisor with one of Canada’s most respected insurance companies. I have my BSc from the University of Maine and I'm a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) and hold the Certified Health Insurance Specialist (CHS) designation.

I live in New Brunswick and enjoy triathlon training, golfing, hockey and spending time with my family.

Kelly Maxwells, Brand Coach

Kelly Maxwell, B.B.A.

Brand & Marketing Specialist

I joined The Personal Coach in 2011, managing all ongoing marketing initiatives. I excel with creative initiatives and content writing where diligence in the details is critical. These skills have helped me to grow my role significantly. In addition to my role at TPC, I support the client advisory teams with their branding and marketing initiatives.

As of 2022, I lead the MasterPoint Branding Program, helping advisors and their teams uncover their brand and implement it powerfully across their TouchPoints (marketing materials). I care about our clients and love to see them get excited about branding and marketing opportunities they have not yet tapped in to. Whether it is implementing a new brand, designing and writing text for a website or working on newsletters or digital marketing – it is all about the compelling content! I have a natural ability for uncovering what makes an advisory team unique and articulating that effectively in their messaging.

In my spare time, I love being outdoors - especially relaxing on a dock in cottage country. I enjoy hot yoga and spinning as well as making memories with my husband, and young daughter and son. I'm a music lover of many genres and enjoy attending concerts if I can find a babysitter.

Community

My family happily supports SickKids Hospital, Easter Seals, Hockey Helps the Homeless and the Heart & Stroke Foundation.

Office Efficiencies & TouchPoint Coach

I began working with The Personal Coach after 17 years on the front lines of the financial services industry. I joined an independent advisor with Manulife Financial in 2000 as a marketing assistant, and in 2003, my husband and I purchased the company and two other financial firms in the subsequent years. I played a key role in merging new clients with our growing and dynamic business.

After selling and implementing the merger of our company with another leading financial services firm in Oakville in 2013, I pivoted into a role focused on marketing and growth initiatives for the firm. I spent some of my time speaking with advisors and industry leaders about transition planning focused on buying and selling businesses.

In my free time, I enjoy relaxing at my cottage on Lake Huron, being outdoors, and reading.

Emily Bennett, Business Coach

Emily Bennett, B.Comm

Information Technology Consultant

Since graduating with a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Windsor, I’ve been involved with technology. I started my career teaching computer operating systems to customers who purchased our computers and accounting systems.

I learned about client service and support while I did a deep dive into how computers work. By understanding these fundamentals, it makes it easier to learn new systems. I joined Manulife in 1999 in a technical analyst role, and spent over 21 years as a team lead and Director. Fast forward a few years, I have added many different systems and applications to my knowledge base.

I love working with technology, especially CRM systems integral to any office. Technology helps me be more productive so I can spend time with friends & family and pursue other hobbies less technical. I’m happy to be joining The Personal Coach and sharing and working with advisors and their teams.

Assistant

I started my career in the financial services industry in 1992 in the local field office of a large international insurance company.

During that time, I successfully fulfilled a wide variety of administrative roles of increasing complexity and responsibility. As part of my role, I was able to work closely with financial advisors on various operational aspects of their practices.

Along with my official functions in the field office, I have also been the operations manager and bookkeeper for my financial advisor husband for the past 25 years. This long familiarity with the financial service industry enables me to bring to the table a unique understanding of factors influencing advisors' practices and a genuine interest in their concerns.

In my free time, I enjoy swimming in one of our northern lakes or riding my bicycle through the countryside and spending time with my growing family.
